Quest has such an open and welcoming environment where everyone feels accepted no matter where they are on the spiritual scale.
My 2 years at Perceptions have been an incredible journey of growth and connection. I’ve made wonderful friends and had the privilidge of learning from supportive teachers and fun interaction with my Youth Leaders. The food is delicious too! I look forward to spending time at Perceptions.

Being a part of Ta’meer has been an enriching, enjoyable and rewarding experience for me. It has given me the opportunity to be a student again which has been so gratifying.
One thing I enjoy most is the depth of the program, how we develop into the intricacies of each word in every ayah and it amazes me how much I learn each time. After 5 years of studying we have reached ayah 48 of Surah Baqarah because of our profound approach. We are able to appreciate the Qur’an on a deeper level, one which makes our interaction with it more meaningful.
Ta’meer has given me the gift of erudition and it has also helped me align Qur’anic teachings with my practice as a psychologist.
An era where many young people are drifting away from Islam, my three children—Hana, Awad, and Aiza—have completed their Quranic studies at the Maktab. The youngest is in her final year. Despite the challenges of today’s world, they have cultivated a deep sense of love and reverence for Allah. Before embarking on any task, they reflect on the afterlife, align their actions with their faith, and strive to do everything for the sake of Allah.
This course was an incredible journey of spiritual growth, self-reflection and my deep connection with Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala. Through this course I haven’t just learned the words of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala but also experienced their impact, support and comfort in my own life. The Qur’an is a true light and guidance.
Some days were challenging in this course but that taught me patience and the importance of striving in the path of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala. I felt that every verse, each verse is a personal message, a reminder for me, a source of comfort in difficult times, a friend in loneliness and my best companion and a source of peace. I pray that the Qur’an will continue to be our guide in shaping our actions, our characters and transformation of our heart and soul.

Rihla’s experience has been a vast and intellectual journey. I wanted to know what I was reading in Arabic in tafsir. The Qur’an was a great achievement for me, though I still feel I have a long way to go to learn as it was my very first time. It has helped me change the way I deal with people and be disciplined in all I do. The constant reminders from the Qur’an helped me change my perspective about life and people. It is not about how much you absorb mentally, but how much it has settled in your heart. I would highly recommend Huma Appa’s classes to everyone at Al-Ilm Institute for a better understanding towards Islam.
